About GEOoptimised

GEOoptimised is an independent evidence base for AI search visibility that grades every published claim by whether it traces to a primary source and reproduces, and that publishes exactly what each tool it reviews pays it.

GEOoptimised covers generative engine optimisation, meaning how brands come to be cited by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews. It is unrelated to geographic, location-based or geo-targeted marketing, which shares the abbreviation and none of the subject matter.

Why this exists

In July 2026 we set out to check the statistics that writing about AI search repeats most often. Of the claims we examined, three led to no primary source we could locate at all. One cited a source whose numbers we could not surface from the page. The single most-quoted figure in the entire field, the 40% visibility uplift, turned out to describe a research benchmark and is routinely presented as a measurement of ChatGPT.

Then we found something worse. A genuinely rigorous statistic, from SparkToro, had drifted by a factor of ten as it was retold, and we had already repeated the wrong version in our own notes before we checked. Nobody had lied. Somebody had paraphrased, and then somebody had paraphrased the paraphrase.

Every serious dataset in this field belongs to a company selling something: Ahrefs, Semrush, Profound, Peec. Their research is often excellent. Nobody independent was checking whether the numbers survived contact with their own sources, and nobody was disclosing what they earned from the tools they recommended. Those are two small jobs. They do not require anyone's funding. So we did them.

What we publish

What we do not do

We do not sell GEO services, and there is nothing here to book. We do not sell a tool, so we have no dashboard to defend. We run no display advertising and will not, because an ad network would choose what appears beside our grading. We do not accept sponsored placements or paid reviews. We intend to earn affiliate commission, and when we do, the tool's row will say so on the same day.

Who writes it

Sunny Patel is an SEO consultant based in Berkshire, England. He runs a portfolio of independent websites and publishes what the data shows, including when it contradicts him. GEOoptimised exists because he could not verify the numbers he kept being asked to repeat.

No claim is made here about certifications, awards, employers or clients. The community this site is written for treats the anonymous "GEO expert" as the villain of the story, and it is right to. A named author who can be held to what he published is the minimum, not a credential.

How to hold us to this

Pick any claim in the ledger. Follow its primary source. Read what it actually measured. If our grade is wrong, send us the source and we will regrade it in public, on the corrections page, with the date and what changed. We do not silently edit pages.

That offer is the entire business model of a site like this. If we ever quietly fix something instead of logging it, we have nothing left to sell.
